How to Quickly Edit a File in Your Workspace

Let's say you have a shortcut to a picture in your workspace. The default app for opening pictures is Preview. And that's fine. But what if you would like to quickly edit it, e.g. using Pixelmator Pro?

That's simple. Just drag the resource icon and drop it into the app.
